The Mary Jones Pilgrim Centre is a missionary visitor centre that tells the story of Mary Jones and Thomas Charles, and the influence of the world's best-selling book – the Bible – on Wales and the world. Situated on the shores of Llyn Tegid with an on-site café, picnic area, facilities and a children's playground, the Mary Jones Pilgrim Centre offers a great time for everyone. We are looking for someone who has a knack for hospitality and excellent interpersonal skills. Working as part of a team, you will assist with the day-to-day running of the Mary Jones Pilgrim Centre. From preparing and serving fresh food in the café, to inspiring visitors with the story of Mary Jones at the visitor centre, you will provide a world-class visitor experience. Caring For Life
Caring For Life is a Christian organisation founded on the principle of servant-hearted ministry. Our aim is to share the love of Jesus Christ daily through practical care, godly example, and faithful witness, praying that many will come to personal faith and become part of His Church. All staff are expected to support and reflect this Christian ethos. The Chef will prepare and present high-quality food at The Granary Restaurant while actively contributing to the organisation’s Christian mission. The role combines professional culinary standards with compassionate service. The post holder will help create a welcoming environment where Christ’s love is demonstrated in attitude, conduct, and conversation. Key responsibilities include preparing hot and cold dishes in line with recipes, allergen guidance, and food safety standards; maintaining high levels of cleanliness and hygiene across kitchen and storage areas; ensuring correct stock rotation and date control, particularly for high-risk items; assisting with daily specials and functions; and supporting the development of menu items, including the promotion of Caring For Life produce. Required training in food hygiene, health and safety, and related areas must be undertaken. The role also involves pastoral sensitivity, especially towards elderly and disabled customers, offering warmth, encouragement, and practical care. Participation in staff prayer, sharing personal testimony when appropriate, and occasionally representing the Charity to Christian groups form part of the post. Reporting to the Head Chef, the post holder must uphold high professional and commercial standards, as The Granary operates to generate funds for the charity. Saturday rota work is essential. An exciting opportunity has arisen with The Gavins Foundation for someone to create and develop the Head of Finance role. They would work closely with the Trustees, Senior Leadership Team (SLT), and wider team members. They would be supporting the things we do well, and helping the team develop further beneficial systems and processes to operate well as a charity and in turn help other charities and ministries. This team member would also help project manage key relationships and assist with asset management. They would help TGF create a robust property management process, for buildings we own and lease, and oversee it’s implementation. There would also be the opportunity to oversee financial training to the local Christian Charity sector with a third party financial agency. This is an exciting time to join TGF as our vision and values are being recharged and rapid growth is on the horizon. Our charity works worldwide but one of our main goals is to supercharge the Christian Charity sector in Sheffield.
