We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed to deliver engaging English and Mathematics lessons to learners working from Entry Level through to Level 2 Functional Skills and GCSE foundation pathways. Key Responsibilities Teaching and Learning Deliver Functional Skills English and Mathematics from Entry Level to Level 2. Plan and deliver personalised lessons that meet individual learning needs. Assess learner starting points and develop appropriate learning plans. Differentiate learning for students with EHCPs, SEND, SEMH, ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and literacy/numeracy gaps. Prepare learners for Functional Skills and GCSE examinations where appropriate. Use practical, project-based and vocational approaches to engage reluctant learners. Monitor and record progress against academic targets. SEND and EHCP Support Contribute to annual reviews and EHCP reporting. Support learners in achieving outcomes identified within their EHCPs. Work collaboratively with mentors, therapists, parents, local authorities and external professionals. Implement reasonable adjustments and personalised support strategies. Behaviour and Pastoral Support Build positive and professional relationships with learners. Promote high expectations, attendance and engagement. Use restorative and trauma-informed approaches to behaviour management. Support learners experiencing barriers to education and personal development. Assessment and Quality Assurance Complete initial and diagnostic assessments. Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress and achievement. Track learner progress and identify intervention requirements. Contribute to internal quality assurance and inspection readiness. Ensure compliance with Independent School Standards and safeguarding requirements. Wider School Contribution Participate in educational visits, enrichment activities and careers events. Work alongside vocational tutors, sports coaches and mentors to deliver cross-curricular projects. Support work experience and employability programmes where appropriate. Attend staff meetings, training and professional development sessions. Person Specification Essential Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), PGCE, Cert Ed or equivalent teaching qualification. Experience teaching Functional Skills English and/or Mathematics. Experience working with SEND and SEMH learners. Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
