The Pathways Team serves to empower clients to make the journey from homelessness to belonging in community (this could include employment or other meaningful activities). The Learning & Engagement Co-ordinator develops and facilitates accessible activities and skills learning, provides one-to-one support to build trust and encourage progression, and is actively involved in enabling clients to keep moving forward toward engaging with mainstream community, education, volunteering and employment, according to abilities and needs. In conjunction with the other members of the team and with relevant supervision, the post holder will support the Pathways Team Leader to provide a service that is co-produced and developed with members of the Pathways Community and reflects the needs and interests of course attendees. Core responsibilities: • To be proactive in working to reach local children and young people with the love of Jesus to see them come to faith in Christ • To disciple children and young people to become mature followers of Christ, equipping them to be disciples who disciple others, and helping them to experience wellbeing, wholeness, and healing in a fun, safe, and welcoming environment • To help inspire the children and young people in our community to live fully and courageously the adventure that Jesus is calling them into • To guard and grow your own relationship with Christ, including the disciplines of daily prayer and bible study • To assist in leading and enabling other members of the church to engage practically in mission to and discipleship of young people • To assist in the running of our Children’s and Youth programmes on Sundays • To assist in running our Monday Night, Wednesday afternoon and Thursday Night Youth Groups • To take a supporting role in working with the local schools both in teaching, mission, and discipleship, building on current relationships and expanding the work done here. • To help to work towards becoming an increasingly inter-generational church, including resourcing parents and wider church family in the spiritual nurture of children and young people • To help support and develop our youth worship ministry. • To advocate for children and youth, taking opportunities to teach, challenge and encourage the whole church • To help in developing our work with young people across the whole of our parish. • To help at any weeks, weekends away or events we attend with our children or youth • To help in the administration of the various aspects of our children and youth programmes, such as rotas, planning, and content • To help maintain the highest standards of safeguarding procedure across the full breadth of children and youth ministries at Ascension.

We are looking for someone to join the team to provide practical support for the various projects of the charity, ensuring a good quality and safe delivery of the services. This will be a varied role including: Carrying out basic maintenance, coordinating other routine maintenance and improvements across the eight properties, moving furniture and collecting supplies and other donations. You will need to be someone who can take initiative, be flexible and respond to a variety of situations and tasks.

 Coordinate and work alongside the Minister and pastoral team in each church to offer pastoral care and spiritual support for the older members of the church family, including visiting at home or in hospital when required.  Attend Tuesday Fellowship at Nailsea and the Welcome Hub at West Town to build relationships and offer a listening ear.  Regularly attend worship in each of the churches, actively building relationships.  Deepen links with the local community and be a visible presence at the groups and activities focusing on the older generation.  To explore possible links with the residential homes in the community.  To explore and develop new ways of engaging with the older members of the church and local community.
