New Team SCIO
We need a volunteer to give us some advice about our website. There might be the opportunity to then work on it, but that is not required, we just really need some technical advice to troubleshoot and also look at long-term solutions. You need to have knowledge and experience of choosing and interacting with webhosts, of php versions, sql servers, page cache and server response times etc. This would involve a video call with a charity worker, looking at our current arrangements and giving advice about the best way to proceed. You need to be user focused and able to explain concepts well and patiently to a lay person. You need to have experience supporting people to develop or manage their own website. This could be a one-off volunteering opportunity, or could possibly be as a long-term advisor as and when needed (likely to be occasional). The website is newteam.org.uk. If you are interested please email Louise at admin@newteam.org.uk with a very short paragraph of why you are suitable to volunteer in this role and ideally with the email address, name, role and organisation/church name and website of a referee who you have done some website work or advice for, so that we can briefly confirm with them. A little about us: We are a tiny Christian charity (no full-time employees although we are working towards employing one) that do urban youth work, focusing on those on the margins. Youth work/management staff manage and update the website but there have been changes recently that are beyond our very limited expertise. (newteam.org.uk)
