We are looking to fill two major leadership positions in our charity, which will take the charity forwards into a new chapter. DIRECTOR ROLE Our Charity Director will soon be stepping aside to allow someone new to lead Oddments into the future. The right individual will be someone who passionately wants to see Oddments’ mission continue, and who has the vision and experience to lead the charity forwards in that aim. Day-to-day responsibilities of the role include: · Managing admin staff and Team Lead · Planning and producing shows · Directing rehearsals (or bring in external director) · Handling finances · Implementing policy & procedures, such as Health and Safety · Promoting the charity, for example at some Christian conferences · Communicating with trustees to ensure good governance · Interviewing and auditioning staff and freelance actors The role could also include elements of touring with the acting team, communicating with supporters and helping to secure bookings for shows. As a charity, it is often the case that roles are varied and certain tasks require a team approach at busy times of the year. We are looking for someone who: · Has strong leadership skills and experience · Is a Christian, with a living faith in Jesus that they are happy to share with others · Knowledge of theatre – has some experience in the industry and knows what makes a show impactful and engaging for the audience, being able to bring the Christian message through in a clear way. During rehearsal and show periods, the Team Lead acts as a bridge between the acting team and the director, feeding information in both directions. They are often involved in directing, acting and touring themselves, and may take the team on tour with or without the Chairty Director. The Team Lead should be someone with a heart for Oddments’ Christian mission, experience in leadership and an ability to balance different projects and tasks. They should be hard-working, confident around new people and should be living, or able to move, near to our base in Yeovil. We also require a UK driving licence, as the Team Lead may be required to drive company vehicles, including larger vehicles.
